The black SH-16 - 59/Custom Hybrid Humbucker from Seymour Duncan is a harmonically rich hybrid bridge pickup that uses one coil from the 59 Model neck and one coil from the higher-output Duncan Custom model, which results in a medium-output gritty sound with sparkly upper mid-range harmonic content. With the mismatched coils and the alnico 5 bar magnet, the SH-16 offers a tight low end and a grinding mid-range well suited for rock and metal players. When split, the 59 offers the classic single-coil sound. The SH-16 also features a nickel bottom plate, a 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options, and is vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance. The 59/Custom Hybrid is carefully hand-built in Santa Barbara, CA.
