The EVH® 5150® Iconic® Series satisfies the needs of gigging and recording guitarists craving that powerful EVH tube tone — but at a more affordable price. Evolving from the revered EVH 5150III® amplifiers, the Iconic Series delivers the searing sound and growling gain that Eddie Van Halen made famous throughout his groundbreaking career.
Designed by renowned amp engineer James Brown, the 5150® Iconic® Series 40-watt 1×12 combo is powered by two EL34 power tubes and voiced by a complex, multi-stage hybrid preamp section anchored by a duet of ECC83 tubes, providing all the fire-power the modern guitarist needs. The cabinet is constructed from MDF with special internal plywood baffling for tight, increased bass response, and houses a custom-designed EVH 12″ Celestion® speaker voiced specifically for this preamp circuit, ensuring that pristine cleans and searing high-gain tones remain tight, clear and articulate.
Punching above its weight, this combo features two channels with an extra voicing on each for even more versatility. The Green channel boasts an Overdrive button for clean ➜ gain, while the Red channel’s Burn button adds fiery crunch that’s ideal for blistering leads.
Each channel has its own Gain and Volume controls for perfect level-matching. The Channel 2 Noise Gate delivers a quick attack that eliminates hiss without choking staccato riffing, and the switchable Boost adds up to +10 dB for solos that soar through the mix. A shared Low / Mid / High EQ, global Resonance & Presence knobs, and Reverb give you precise authority over every facet of your tone.
Additional pro features include a two-button footswitch, effects loop, dual parallel speaker output jacks, a ¼-power switch so you can crank the amp without waking the neighborhood, and a speaker-emulated XLR DI with power-amp mute for authentic all-tube EVH tone straight to your recorder or PA.
Sporting sophisticated EVH style, the 5150 Iconic Series 40-watt 1×12 combo is wrapped in Black textured vinyl with a black cloth front grille and features gold & black 5150/EVH logo badges. A brushed gold anodized aluminum top panel, vintage-style chicken-head knobs and a molded black plastic handle complete this striking all-tube combo.

Defective or Damaged Instruments
We stand behind every instrument we sell. If your instrument arrives with a manufacturer defect or is damaged in transit (e.g., a broken pickup on an electric guitar), please contact us immediately.
Eligibility:
- The defect / damage must be reported within 7 days of delivery.
- You must provide clear photographs or video showing the issue.
Submission of photos or video alone does not guarantee a return or repair. All claims are subject to a physical inspection by our certified technician.
Process:
- Email support@solschoolofmusic.ca with your order number, a description of the problem, and the visual evidence.
- We’ll review and, if preliminarily approved, issue a prepaid shipping label.
- Ship the instrument back to us for inspection.
- After inspection:
- If approved, we’ll repair the instrument at no cost or replace it with an equivalent model (subject to availability).
- If not approved, the instrument will be returned to you unrepaired and return shipping will be charged to you.

Repairs & Maintenance
Beyond initial defects, we offer ongoing string replacement and repair services for Tar and Setar. These services follow our standard repair rates and turnaround times. -
Non-Defective Instruments
Instruments that are undamaged and functioning as intended—regardless of buyer’s remorse or change of mind—are not eligible for return, exchange, refund, or credit. -
